IS NEUROFEEDBACK COVERED BY INSURANCE?  

Not usually, though some insurances may cover Biofeedback Code 90901.

Neurofeedback, a type of Biofeedback, is not a medical procedure and is not covered by most insurance plans, though some private insurance companies will cover a lesser fee for Biofeedback. Government programs Medicare & MediCal do not cover Neurofeedback, and will not pay for any code to a Chiropractor except "Manual Manipulation to the Spine."  Some insurers request a diagnosis of ADHD by the Family Practitioner.  The Biofeedback CPT code insurance code is 90901, so it is worth checking with the insurance company regarding "Biofeedback" coverage, and the amount they allow.
