HOW MANY NEUROFEEDBACK TRAINING SESSIONS

ARE RECOMMENDED?

Twenty sessions of Neurofeedback training are normally recommended.  Some symptoms & conditions see continued gain with more training.

Sessions are 30 minutes of actual brain training time, though plan on 50-60 minute visits. The initial intake averages 3 hours and includes a detailed history, evaluation, optional QIK - continuous performance test, symptom tracking setup, Q&A time, and a brief start-up training session. Starting the 20 training sessions can begin the following day. On session 20, a reassessment is performed.  Symptoms and QIK results are compared and new goals outlined. It is recommended the first 5 sessions be close together, preferably daily, then training can be spaced further apart.  For some, doubling up sessions in the same day, with a break in-between, is reported to be as effective, and especially helpful for those traveling.

HOW SOON WILL PROGRESS BE NOTICED?

'Progress is usually noticed within twenty sessions, although many report benefits, especially to relaxation, sleep, and 'everything going along a bit more smoothly,' beginning immediately.  Behavioral changes in the classroom are often noted from immediately to two months of training.  As the nervous system begins to regulate with improved function, people often often describe feeling more 'like myself!',
